World of Money “The Power of One Philanthropy” Award

On February 4, 2021, World of Money (“WOM”) honored Global Gift Registry founder Jacqueline Nickelberry with “The Power of One Philanthropy Award.”  For 14 years, Jacqueline has worked with various non-profits to raise money and increase awareness about inequities in education and community programs.  Most recently, at the onset of COVID-19, she co-founded the Global Gift Registry after a chance encounter with a homeless pregnant woman.  As featured in the Miami Herald and Chicago’s NBC 5, the Global Gift Registry’s mission is to mitigate the impact of the pandemic by helping homeless and low-income families obtain essential supplies.  We’re proud that our grassroots-led online gifting initiative has now delivered over $175,000 worth of food, personal care products, learning tools, baby supplies, household goods and gift cards.  Jacqueline accepted this honor on behalf of the thousands of people who participated and made the Global Gift Registry a success.

It’s humbling and exciting for a non-profit like WOM to recognize Jacqueline’s contributions to the community.   Founded 16 years ago, WOM is the leading provider of youth financial education in New York City and globally through https://www.WorldofMoneyOnline.org.  WOM helps break the cycle of poverty by teaching financial literacy in underserved communities.   Imagine a child’s potential when he or she grows up understanding the best way to protect, invest and grow wealth.  Presently, WOM seeks to raise funds so they can teach even more students.  Teachers and administrators in historically underfunded school systems want WOM’s unique tools and immersive virtual programming but they just can’t afford it.  WOM’s success on February 4 will help close this gap ensuring that children across the United States will have an opportunity to learn about the power of money.
