Essence Magazine’s 2020 Essential Heroes Award

In November 2020, Global Gift Registry Founder Jacqueline Nickelberry accepted Essence Magazine’s 2020 Essential Heroes Award.

She dedicated this honor on behalf of the almost 500 women from around the world who leant their names, networks and resources to make the Global Gift Registry possible. We sent $175,000 of supplies to the underprivileged during COVID-19–food, baby items, learning tools, household goods, gift cards and personal care products.

Alone, I did very little but, together, we were an unstoppable force. In Miami, New York, Chicago, Atlanta & Los Angeles, we stood in the gap for women, children and families who were hurting and struggling to survive. To all of you who donated, shared a post or just provided a comment of encouragement…thank you. This is our award. A visual reminder that “together we can face any challenge as deep as the ocean and as high the sky…”
