SANCTUARY FOR FAMILIES PARTNERS WITH GLOBAL GIFT REGISTRY TO PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES TO SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
New York, NY (May 21, 2020) – Sanctuary for Families, a leading New York City domestic violence service provider, has partnered with Global Gift Registry to provide essential supplies to survivors of domestic violence. Through a gift registry on Target.com, which launched this week, Sanctuary and Global Gift Registry invite donors to select items for purchase that will be shipped to Sanctuary’s shelters serving survivors of domestic violence.
The registry is the second of such launched during the COVID-19 health crisis by Global Gift Registry, a global collective of women spearheaded by Jacqueline Nickelberry who help provide essential resources to expecting women and families in vulnerable communities.
“Shelter-in-place orders mandated by the COVID-19 crisis have put into sharp focus the fact that home is not a safe place for everyone,” said Hon. Judy Harris Kluger, Executive Director of Sanctuary for Families. “As domestic violence surges and economic hardship compounds problems for those escaping an abuser, the essential items that get us through life – from cleaning supplies and food staples to baby swaddles and undergarments – are often beyond our clients’ grasps. We extend our thanks to Jacqueline Nickelberry, her team and their grassroots coalition of donors for recognizing this need and seeking to fill it.”

Items on the registry include items such as cleaning supplies, pantry staples, diapers, swaddles, feminine sanitary products, blankets, toys, strollers, gift cards and more.
